Dili - 18/1/2021-on Monday, through the plenary, at the National Parliament (PN), nominated Expedito Dias Ximenes (an expert of Social Communication) and Benevides Correia Barros (Judge) to represent National Parliament of Timor-Leste in Press Council (CI).
Expedito Dias Ximenes as a candidate from CNRT party while Benevides Correia Barros as a candidate from Democratic Party (PD).
After National Parliament conducted the nomination of 2 members through a secret election, the President of National Parliament, Aniceto Longuinhos Guterres, announced the result of the votes immediately in the plenary of the National Parliament.
Expedito Dias Loro Ximenes Competed with Jordão Henrique and resulted in 36 votes for Expedito while 29 votes for Jordão. In addition to that judge, Benevides Correia Barros elected with favour 53 votes, against 6, abstain 4, white 2 and nil 0.
“Through today’s election, the National Parliament finally nominated its two members composed of Mr. Expedito Dias and Mr. Benevides Correia Barros,” announced the President of Parliament National.
